It is essential that competence be demonstrated in preparing fabric for final stitching on an embroidery machine The candidate must be able to

select correct hoop

identify fabric properties

select stabilisers toppings and backings

stitch the embroidery

Evidence should demonstrate the candidates ability to prepare fabric for final stitching on an embroidery machine through production of sample pieces using woven nonwoven knitted lightweight and heavyweight fabrics

Context of and specific resources for assessment

Assessment may occur on the job or in an appropriately simulated environment and requires access to work areas materials and equipment and to information on workplace practices and OHS practices
